All players start in the "bleak world" and advance together along a vibrant rainbow path "Towards a Better World for Everyone!"
Your journey is filled with fun and heart-pounding challenges. The color you land on dictates the type of challenge you must complete before rolling again on your next turn. While luck plays a part in your roll, skill and strategy are key to determining the outcome of each turn. Don’t worry – you only ‘reveal’ as much or as little as you feel safe and comfortable doing. We’ve made sure that you’ll feel that you’re in a safe space, because beginners can enjoy a choice of three challenges on each turn. Roll two dice, get three choices! Move the number shown on either of the dice or the sum of the dice. Land on the challenge you prefer!
Although one player will be the first to reach the Better World, everyone is a winner along the colorful rainbow pathway!
Rainbow Quest! inspires spirited, heartfelt, and impactful dialogue (plus lots of laughter!) across cultures, generations, genders, and sexual orientations.
And straight folks — this includes you! Non-gay people often find they can win, but we like to think everyone who plays is a winner!
Designed to be wholesome enough for an LGBTQ+-inclusive curriculum, groups for queer elders also enjoy Rainbow Quest!, sparking conversations they wish they had 60 years ago.
